Our first expedition was to the Taipei Zoo. It was a great little afternoon trip, and the zoo is easily accessible from the MRT but is just enough outside the city to get some great mountain views.
We had our first night market experience and wandered through a temple celebrating the Moon Festival.
We got some great views of the city from a giant rooftop ferris wheel and gondolas up in the mountains.
And most importantly, we went to the world famous Modern Toilet restaurant!
It was a fun little getaway, and we will definitely be spending a lot of time in Taipei while we are here in Taiwan! And this is only the beginning of our travels! We have trips booked about every three weeks for the next couple months, so there will be plenty more pictures to come.
